Same ole Saturday

The scale read the same as last Saturday...with adding aerobics to my routine, I'm really surprised but not overly concerned.  It'll happen when it happens (weight loss that is)

The day started as if I was going to remain game on but continued to become my "day off"...not too bad though :)

Breakfast was my eggs over my hammy concoction.

Then I started baking...I made some delicious zucchini bread again...double yolks are good luck right?

I made a double batch one for DJ (and us) and one for Healthbeat...I'm featuring this recipe duirng class this week.  (I swear I took this picture...isn't it AWESOME?)

For lunch I made the MOST delicious salad...romaine, napa cabbage, chinese noodles, and a Trader Joe's Chicken Burger with my addiction (peanut dressing) (YUM)

Livie had a play date around 4p and I was really hungry so I grabbed some pretzels with PB, it was OK

On the way home from our play date, I stopped to get a pizza from Little Ceasars for the boys (ok, I had a piece, YUM)

DJ and I had a little date night with crabs and beer but I forgot to take a picture...they were really good but didn't agree with my stomach.  Good news is, I didn't retain any of the calories :)  LOL

That's all I got for Saturday - TTFN :)

Shopping, Sushi and DAY OFF!!!

The Consignment event was AMAZING!!!  I scored BIG TIME!  I got 6 dresses, 4 skirts, 5 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, 2 footie jammies, a comforter, a winter coat and 2 pair of shoes for Livie for $135!  IT ROCKED!

On the way home I decided I needed something to eat and I decided SUSHI!  I forgot to ask for my sushi with brown rice so I ended up having to use my "meal off" from the game.  Oh well it was really delicious!

SATURDAY!!!  CRAZY SATURDAY!
First thing is first...I LOVE the scale this morning!!!  I GET MY 20% point bonus for making my weightloss goal!!!

Today was a CRAZY DAY!  Dom had a game at 8am *Brrrrr*  I woke up at 6am and hit the road for a quick mile and a half.  Mason wanted to come so we only ran about half of it.  He is such a good boy, LOVE HIM!  When we got home, we hurried to get ready to leave for the game.  Left and hit McDonalds for some Egg McMuffins...I know, YUCK, but at least all we got were Egg McMuffins and Oatmeal :)  I had half a bfast sammie and declared "TODAY IS MY DAY OFF" from the Game.  Dom scored a goal at his game, I meant to take pictures but didn't get around to it.

After the game MOM and I sat at the MVA to get me a new license.  2 hours later (UGG) we headed to white marsh to try to find some curtains for my kitchen windows (suggestion from the deputy who arrived the night of the break in).  No luck just yet, I have bizarre shaped Windows and I may have the make the curtains, no worries.  We gave up on curtains and went to PF Changs!  YUM.  Mom and I split the cashew chicken with brown rice and she talked me into crab wontons and I couldn't pass up the egg drop soup.  Realizing this meal *minus the crab wontons* is probably sanctioned by the Game :).  EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!

I'm wondering if this fortune is true??  "IF you put up with small annoyances, you will gain great results"  I'm not so sure...I HATE SMALL ANNOYANCES :)  Maybe I should give it a try, couldn't hurt to be a little more tolerant, right?

Anyway...after lunch I came home and we zoomed to church for a family picture for the pictorial directory.  The picture was a disaster, I hate that sometimes I feel good about how I'm looking and really starting to see results in my clothes and my self image then WHAM!!!  I see a photo of myself and I'm almost right back at ground zero :(  UGG!!!  Oh well, I'll use this as motivation to keep going.  My progress in the last 4 weeks alone has been TREMENDOUS!  Just keep going, right?

After pictures, we came home and the boys all headed to a sleep over at Mom Mom's.  I took this opportunity to seriously organize the house.  I:
  • put all the kids summer clothes away and pulled out, washed and organized their fall/winter stuff.
  • I washed all Livie's new clothes and got them situated in her closet
  • I straightened and organized our room *it was a mess*
  • I cleaned our bathroom
  • cleaned the kitchen
  • organized the bathroom closet
  • sent 5 bags of clothes (not consignable) to the clothing dumpster :)
I think that is about it; after all this work, we headed out with the lil girl to get something to eat.  We were talking about a couple of places and wanted to go somewhere the boys don't really like but we like so we could enjoy it without them complaining :)  We ended up at La Tolteca.  MY FAV.  It is my FAVORITE place for a couple of reasons.  (1) it is BY FAR the most authentic mexican food I've ever had.  (2) the margaritas are TO DIE FOR and (3) they have the friendliest service I've ever experienced.  DJ and I both love this place so we enjoyed it without the kiddos *who don't love it so much, of course the lil lady doesn't have an opinion yet*  I got the Tamale and Enchilada combo and a Margarita.  DJ decided he wanted some fried ice cream and I had a few bites.  YUM!

I think we need to do a Girl's Night Out at this place, SOON!!!

I guess that is about it for today...after we ate dinner we went to the mall to pick up stuff I know the boys needed like jeans and long sleeve t-shirts.  That's about all I got for today, TTFN and good night from the gorgeous girl :)

I Should LOVE my Scale but I'm Grumpy

I wish I could say I was a bigger woman than to let the hormones of Aunt Flow along with having a stomach bug get me down.  I'm not!!!  I absolutely HATE being sick.  I hate even more when my babies get sick but more than anything...I HATE the Floyd Massacre that happens every 28 days.  I have GOT to talk to my doctor about this...Sorry for all the bad mojo but I'm working on it.  I should be happy right?!?!  I was down to 204.5 this morning *I SHOULD BE THRILLED*

This morning I woke up feeling much better but still not great.  The bug hit Dom and I hard!!  We couldn't even keep water down :(  But feeling much better I slowly eased into food again.  Early this morning...Mason and I hit the grocery store for this week's groceries.  Half way through I realized I needed to get motivated and shop for a 4 week "Game" "Challenge" "Competition" "Diet"...whatever you want to call it.  (more on that in a bit)

After the grocery store  I headed to a flea market nearby to try and find some clothes for Livie.  I did OK...I got 2 pair of pants a vest and a fleece jacket for my lil bug all for 3 dollars.  I also got a little alarm clock for the boys *they asked for it* and some snow pants for Mason...good deal :)  On the way to the flea market I picked up a egg white flat bread from DD.  I didn't end up eating it until we left but it was still pretty good.

After that though...I wasn't very hungry the rest of the day.  I only snacked on some Cantaloupe
When I got home from the Flea Market...I realized I needed to get a new car seat for Livie Girl.  I did that and Mason and I went to the Party City.  We were investigating costumes for this Halloween.  I think he found one he likes.  Livie is going to be Pebbles (thanks to Mom Mom) and Linc is going to be Bam Bam (so cute).  We have a big Halloween party we go to every year (as a family) so I thought it would be cute if DJ and I went as Fred and Wilma *the boys are into their own costumes (as you can see)*.  Dom wants to be a storm trooper.  Anyway...I asked Mom Mom to make our Fred and Wilma costumes too :)
What is up with little boys
and scary costumes?

After a little nap we decided to go to Annie's Playground to play with the kids (I'll add pics to this post when I download them).  We borrowed this AMAZING...totally expensive camera from work to take the pics.  side note: I had to use the camera last week for a project and will return it to our marketing department Monday morning.  It survived and I'm sure the pictures are AMAZING!  After Annie's we went to the mall.  We had to buy Livie new earrings b/c she lost one during her nap and we wanted to get dinner out.

We ended up eating at Red Robin (Yummmmmmm).  I got the grilled chicken salad thing (can never remember the name but it is really good).  I shared my chicken with Livie.  I really enjoyed it :)

After dinner we came home...I wish I had more patience for my kids when I'm overwhelmed by hormones?  I also have no patience for my husband during my "monthly visitor".  During this time of month I think very seriously about seeking therapy.  It isn't normal how wound I feel...I feel stressed and annoyed in general by everyone and everything!!!  I wish I felt more normal right now...

Now April...STOP feeling sorry for yourself!!!  MOVE ON PAST the drama...come on motivation!

I finished reading about this Game On Diet I'm starting on Monday.  Amy at work asked if I wanted to participate and after much consideration I decided I do!  I have to make some changes to my monster and breakfast regimen but I think this will be good *and fun*.  The Game works like this:  You get points for eating 5 balanced meals each day *you have to have one carb or fruit, one fat and one protein in each meal*  No snacking, but you must eat every 2-4 hours.  This isn't a problem for me.  You get points for other stuff too like 20 minutes of exercise each day, sleeping 7+ hours, breaking a bad habit, starting a new healthy habit, drinking 3 litres of water every day, etc...  There are also penalties for snacking, drinking alcohol, etc...  If you lose 1% of your body weight each week, you earn a bonus.  I think that pretty much covers it.

I'm actually pretty excited about starting this on Monday.  Meals must be "sanctioned".  Monday's menu will be (I think): MEAL #1: a whole wheat english muffin, 1/2 with a veggie sausage and 1/2 with sunflower butter.  MEAL#2: Green Monster *modified* (Spinach, splash almond milk, low fat greek yogurt, 1/8 C. Blueberries 1/4 C. Pineapple) MEAL #3: Veggie Burger on English Muffin with 1/2 slice of low fat cheese, mustard and green salad with cucumbers, light dressing and 10 peanuts.  MEAL#4: 4 slices of low fat cheddar cheese with 8 triscuit crackers and 5 cashews.  MEAL#5: dinner :) I'm not sure what dinner will be.  Probably Tilapia seasoned with Lemon and EVOO along with some asparagus and brown rice.  Let's see how day 1 goes...this is alot of work but I'm a creature of habit so if each week, I have the same 4 or so meals...I will just get creative with the final one.  I hope this works...I want to ROCK OUT this game.

The good thing about this game is that you can plan your game around special events.  Each week, you get a day off from all the game rules, you get a day off from exercise and you get a day off from water.  In addition you get a meal off every week.  I'll keep ya'll posted on my progress here!!!  Tomorrow is my last day of freedom :)

That's all I got today...TTFN (204.5)

I LOVE my Scale Saturday with Trader Joes

Each Saturday I will dictate whether I hate or love my scale.  TODAY!!  I LOVE my scale...3lbs down from last week.  207!!!!! HOLY CRAP!  I'm so happy about this :)  I was saying "Yes! Yes! Yes!" in the bathroom this morning and DJ was like...what?  what are you doing?  LOL  I was really happy

Is it just me?? or do everyone's clothes feel looser when they are noticing weight loss (in terms of numbers).  The pants I put on today were a little looser than usual.  Feels GOOD!  And I went to Kohls to try to find an outfit/dress to wear for our family pictures tomorrow, and everything felt like it fit pretty well!!!  I'm LOVING TODAY!

I woke up around 6am and hit the road for a quick 1.5 miler.  While I was running I was thinking about what I wanted to eat for breakfast.  I thought I really wanted to eat Eggs Benedict...but I didn't want to make or consume hollindase sauce (too many calories).  I figured out a variation and it came together literally as I was making it.

Eggs over my Hammy (I think this is from a restaurant menu, but can't remember...haha)
First I made an over easy egg in the skillet and toasted an english muffin.  When the egg was done I put it on one half of the english muffin (giving the other half of the english muffin to Livie with some PB for her bfast).  I looked in the fridge and saw some cheddar cheese so I sprinkled a little on top.  Then I saw the last little bit of ham from lunches last week. I threw that on the still hot skillet and heated it through. I took the egg back off the english muffin and put the ham underneath.  OMG...it was so good!!!  When I broke the egg, the yoke kind of made a sauce.  Mmmmmm (I estimate it was only about 150 calories).  This is a horrible picture!!!

After breakfast; Terri and I hit the road for Trader Joes.  It is about 20 miles for us.  Let me just say this...I LOVE TRADER JOES!  It was a fun shopping trip and I found lots of stuff I'd been looking for.  Monica of runeatrepeat.com uses a peanut dressing and I really wanted to try it.   I picked up a lot of goodies :)

On our way home...I snacked on some veggie chips (I LOVE veggie chips, even if they are fried)

When we got home I made a HUGE salad...like Monica HUGE (LOL).  I used some mixed veggies I picked up at TJ (jiccima, broccoli, celery, radish, carrots, something else...) and some almonds.  Then I put some pot stickers (I'd picked up at another market) on top.  YUM!!!  It was a really yummy and huge lunch and now I'm stuffed.

Now it is time for me to get my hair did!  I LOVE getting my hair cut.
