Meats and Sweets

When I was 22, I gave up alcohol for lent.  It was very difficult but I did it and was proud of my accomplishment.  After that I always had a really difficult time choosing a sacrifice and usually decided to just add something.  So I would change a behavior or add special time with the kiddos, but honestly, I should have been doing that anyway so I wasn't as fulfilled.  Last year, I became a veggie for lent (allowing fish).  It was difficult but by Easter, I was really enjoying the change and felt awesome.

It will come as no surprise that this year, I'm doing the same thing with a little twist...I've settled on meats and sweets.  I really need something to jump start my motivation to get off at least another 10lbs by summer.  I'm only about 20lbs from where I'll be satisfied...40 to where I want to get eventually.  I'm taking this slow (b/c that is the healthiest things to do) but I would like a little jump start.  I know that giving up meat is a good way to get some results and feel good and sweets is just a bonus.  As you've seen I've fallen off the wagon with baked goods and chocolate of late and will be glad to clease my system for a bit...

Today was day 1 of no Meats or Sweets and to be honest I feel like it was a bust.  I literally feel like I ate ALL DAY!  Here are the pictures, I'll calorie it out and see how I actually did (estimates)

Time to watch my shows and go to bed
