Last night during our run we got to talking about people who can just run 5, 10, 15 plus miles...We do 2-3 and it is just enough for me...perhaps one day I'll do more. I can honestly say that most of the people I know who run long distances are pretty thin. I'm not using my weight as an excuse but I can honestly say that being bigger makes running a little more difficult then someone who is thinner.
When I started running I was running with a friend who is thinner and runs and was trying to get me to run further/faster. She was nagging me and I was annoyed (although it was good that she was pushing me) so I told her to envision running with her 8 year old strapped to her back. It made her think and now I ask you to think about that...When I started running I was 250lbs. When I was 25 I weighed 150lbs. That is 100 lbs!!! THAT IS BOTH OF MY KIDS. It is like having one strapped to my back and the other strapped to my front and trying to run long distances. If you remember, when I started running I had lots of knee pain...I wonder why?!?!?! At this point it is like I've put down Mason but I am still carrying around Dom and I just know that when I can put him down (45lbs) I will be able to do even more, better, faster and stronger :)
On to today?! It started a little rough...
You can't see this sign but it says "MAJOR DELAYS AHEAD...STAY ALERT" I didn't want to get into an accident while trying to snap a picture but traffic was moving pretty slowly at this point. Oh well I was stuck in it. It took me over an hour to get to work...Wah Wah Wah :(
It only got better though.
After a commute like that, I thought it called for some chocolate chips in my oatmeal, LOL
Then Hubby and I went to dinner at Chopsitx...I got sushi and miso soup. We only had the little girl b/c the boys went to dinner with Mom Mom and Poppy.
Now I'm chillin and headed to bed shortly
